Now that you have received your Amaglamour Hair you are likely curious how to care for it. Hydration both before and after installation is the most important step to maintaining the exquisite texture and appearance of your hair. Follow these tips and get ready for the compliments!
Pre Install
Inspect:
When you receive your shipment remove your product from the package and inspect each piece carefully. We take great pride in our product and it is 100% guaranteed. Since natural hair is reactive to a simple wash and deep conditioning, you can keep your new hair looking its best by implementing a simple care regimen.
Pre Wash:
Gently rinse your hair extensions with warm water until they are saturated. Apply a generous amount of Shampoo to the hair, while holding the weft at the base, gently shampoo in a downward motion working shampoo from the top down. Rinse thoroughly. Condition hair in same manner and allow time to air dry.

LACE FRONTAL TIPS AND TRICKS!
Our lace frontals are customised to a bare minimal. We strongly believe that no two people's hair lines are exactly identical meaning it would be almost impossible to create a customised frontal to fit all. Factors such as hairline measurements, widows peak's and baby hairs all need to be considered whilst customising any type of frontal.
We also do not support the bleaching of knots to our frontals/ closures. Not only does the bleach seep through to the roots of your hair (leaving your roots bleached) but it also softens the lace and weakens the roots of each hair strand giving a higher chance of shedding/ balding. To overcome this, we ensure that our frontals and closures come with a natural looking tinted brown lace to avoid the needs of bleaching.
CARING FOR CURLY HAIR
Generally, curly hair is prone to being dry, which is the reason why a good shampoo, conditioner, mask or serum should be within arms reach weekly. It's so important to replenish moisture into your curls. Some ways you can do that is by using conditioner every time you wash your hair, as well as performing routine deep conditioning and oil treatments.
The key is to use products specifically made for curly hair, which are also sulfate and alcohol free. You would want to stay away from such ingredients that that really dry out your hair extensions.
Once your hair has been washed and cleaned, gently towel dry your extensions scrunch your bundles to encourage the original curl pattern to re-form. Be sure to be gently whilst squeezing the excess water out to avoid your extensions becoming frizzy.
Air drying is an important step with all hair extensions as not only does it avoid unnecessary heat damage, but also leaves your hair feeling soft and silky once dried. Specifically for curly hair, a good leave in conditioner such as curl activating creams or a light serum would be great to apply whist your extensions are still wet and them leaving them to air dry. If you're pressed for time, then you can use a diffuser to dry your hair.
Whilst some people may prefer to straighten out their curls, we do not encourage the excessive exercise of using hot tools against curly hair. This will surely start to affect the original curl pattern of your hair be it extensions, or natural hair! We also do not encourage strong colour bleaching to curly hair as this will have a weakening effect on its curl pattern.
Lastly, always remember to use a wide tooth comb or denman brush whilst combing through your curly hair. Remember that wet hair is more prone to breakage, so be super patient and gentle if you're combing it wet.
WEEKLY
- Use minimal amounts of serum to keep there hair moisturized and frizz free
- When combing through the hair, use a wide toothed comb, starting from the bottom working your way up. This ensures minimal shedding and detangles the hair appropriately
- When working heat, ensure heat defense serums/ sprays are used
- Avoid using oil and holding sprays on our hair as this adds to unnecessary product build up
- Sleep with hair nets or silky head scarfs at night to prolong longevity
MONTHLY
- Ensure your virgin hair is shampooed and conditioned about twice every 3 weeks
Shampoo:
Distribute a generous amount of Shampoo through your entire scalp and massage your scalp with the tips of your fingers (not your fingernails). Gently shampoo in a downward motion working shampoo from the top down. This rubbing action and the resultant friction will loosen dirt, product residue and dandruff which can then be rinsed away. Thoroughly rinse your scalp afterwards, still massaging with your finger tips as you do so.
Condition / Hydrate:
Conditioning the hair is vital to its maintenance. After you have shampooed and thoroughly rinsed your hair apply a generous amount of Conditioner to the hair. Gently comb hair with a wide tooth comb, to assure even coverage. Rinse conditioner from your hair with warm water and gently towel or air dry.
Mid Week Wash:
Make sure to Shampoo your hair at least once a week. If you lead an active lifestyle, use excessive product or feel your hair had become dry substitute conditioner for shampoo during your weekly wash. Wash your hair in a downward motion, working conditioner from the top down in one motion.
Please remember that many shampoos and conditioners contain harsh, drying sulfates that are extremely damaging to hair (ammonium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc.). These common detergents found in shampoos make curly hair frizzy and uncooperative. Conditioner can be used sufficiently to clean the hair (see the next step). Also, more gentle shampoos that contain mild cleansers (i.e. cocamidopropyl betaine or coco betaine) can be used occasionally or more often for wavier hair types. Pick an appropriate product for the care of your new hair. Use a good quality shampoo, your stylist can advise you what product is best for your hair.
Styling:
Always keep your extensions tangle free. Brush or comb gently and avoid any excess tension. Always comb or brush hair from the bottom up, small sections at a time. The more careful you treat your extensions the longer they will last. Support your attachment when brushing or combing your hair.
Hair Care Products:
Use a good (leave-in) conditioner to keep your hair soft. Avoid hair products that contain alcohol which can make the hair very dry. Also remember that many styling products can cause build up over time. It is recommended that a deep cleansing shampoo be used once or twice a month to remove build-up. Build-up can make the hair dry and can cause tangling. Use moisturizers to avoid this problem.
Heat / Styling Tools:
Heat is your hair’s biggest enemy. The more you use on it, the shorter the life span of your hair. Use heat in moderation. Do not use high temperatures. High temperatures can damage the hair, including permanently altering the hair texture.
• If you perm, tint, bleach or cellophane the hair, you do it at your own risk. We do not guarantee any hair that has been chemically altered. If you must chemically alter it, then be sure to do a test strand first. This will allow you to test how the hair will hold up to the chemicals.
Please read the labels of all hair products carefully. Do not use any of the hair products recommended if you are allergic to the product or to any ingredient in the hair care product.
